Giving
Family Giving is the financial contribution(s) each family gives directly to Roosevelt PTA throughout each school year. The PTA asks each family to fund this year's resources for education and enrichment programs, activities, supplies, and equipment for students at Roosevelt Elementary.
Did you know music, art, the STEM lab, assemblies, field trips, the raised garden, school supplies, equipment, and so much more would not exist without Family Giving? With your support the PTA can continue to supplement many ways for our kids to receive a better education.
We ask every family to give what they can. Spread your gift out monthly across the year, company match, whatever you can. Every gift from $5 to $5000 is important!
WHY IT'S IMPORTANT
STEM
Through STEM education, students learn to become problem solvers, innovators, creators, and collaborators and go on to fill the critical pipeline of engineers, scientists, and innovators so essential to the future of California and the nation.
STEM education inspires and prepares all of its students to seize the opportunities of the global society through innovation, inquiry, collaboration, and creative problem solving.
MUSIC
Music education improves and develops language skills in children. Music stimulates the brain, and with its varied sounds and lyrics, students are exposed to a large amount of vocabulary in a short amount of time.

Especially in young children, music directly benefits the ability to learn words, speak them correctly, and process the many new sounds they hear from others.
ART
Creativity and appreciation for the arts are important for all students to have a well-rounded education that exposes them to new ideas and perspectives.
Arts education boosts school attendance, academic achievement, and college attendance rates; improves school climate; and promotes higher self-esteem and social-emotional development.

WHAT WE
FUND
The PTA funds academic enrichment programs, such as field trips or after-school art, drama, music, math and reading programs. The PTA also funds events and activities that promote family engagement at school, to strengthen home and school relationships.

Due to devastating cuts to the state and city budget in recent years, PTAs are increasingly filling the gaps and helping to fund basics such as classroom supplies and equipment as well as librarians and school nurses.
​
Each year the PTA assesses its needs and develops a program plan that provides for the unique needs of Roosevelt Elementary.
